Miles & Willy

Miles and Willy are two English Bulldog brothers that couldn't be any more different from one another. Miles (left) is the older of the two and was just content posing for the camera (although if I took too long framing my shot he would give me a quick charge as if to say "HURRY UP!"). Willy (right) was MUCH more active but a little unsure of the camera, which was strange since he wasn't really afraid of anything else. As long as I was positioned clear across the yard he was happy being himself. I didn't take it personally. A toss of the ball let Willy show off his wheels. That guy can move! Thanks Jon and Heather for introducing me to the boys. Enjoy some of the pictures.

Pug Fest 2009 Photos

Sunday, May 17th was a celebration of all things pug. I had the opportunity to photograph at the 2009 Milwaukee Pug Fest. The day featured a parade of rescues and a pug costume contest among many other great events. I got to meet some great pug owners and shoot some photos. What could be better? In my opinion the organization put on a great event that seemed really well attended.  And, since the event supports pug rescue, that was great to see. Check out some of my photos below.

These photos can also be seen now on my photo site and soon on the Milwaukee Pug Fest website. referralcredits

Natalie

Natalie is a 13 week old shepherd/beagle mix that's a 9 pound bundle of energy . She was a rescue from the Milwaukee Humane Society and she's currently learning her puppy manners. For her age she's surprisingly well trained. She sits, shakes paw and comes to her name (when she wants to of course). Thanks Phil and Brad for letting me photograph her. I had a great time and I hope you enjoy the pictures. She was the perfect model.

Cesar the Pug Photos

Cesar is a 4 year old pug. He is also one of the more spunky pugs I've met. Getting him to remove his nose from the ground (turns out there was a lot to smell) to look up at the camera was a little challenging . This was especially difficult since he didn't seem to be too interested in my all natural dog treats. He did eventually warm up to them though. The weather was great and Cesar was looking good. Thanks Greg and Nicole for a fun shoot, I hope I was able to wear Cesar out for the evening. Enjoy a couple of the pictures from the shoot.

Milwaukee Pug Fest - May 17th, 2009

Recently I connected with some of the organizers of Milwaukee's Pug Fest and as a way of helping out this great organization I have offered to help photograph the event. Pug Fest will be on May 17th at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex. The event helps raise funds for pug rescue and raise awareness of responsible breeding practices. There will be a parade of rescues, a costume contest and even pug races. It sounds like they put on a great event and I'm really looking forward to being a part of it. If you are planning on attending (and you really should) please find me and say hi. It should be a great time.

Minooka Dog Park 4/9/09

It was a BEAUTIFUL day at the dog park. The ground wasn't too muddy and the weather was perfect.  Chloe got a nice workout as usual. Although I wasn't able to stick around very long I was able to meet some great dog owners and shoot a little dog action. Here are some of the pictures: photos.

Albino Squirrel Sighting!

Well it's not really pet related but I saw my first albino squirrel Tuesday night. I was driving past the Waukesha library (here) when I noticed a furry white critter rummaging around in the grass. I didn't have my camera with me at the time (yes, I have now learned my lesson) so you'll have to take my word for it but I was thoroughly surprised. I know of a few other sightings around Waukesha but I'd love to hear others. Please post comments and pictures about your experience(s). You can bet that I will be keeping an eye out for this little guy/gal in the future and it will be my goal to get photographic evidence. albinosquirrel

WI Pug Play Group Meetup Photos 4/5/09

While there wasn't a huge turnout for the WI Pug Play Group April Meetup, I had a great time meeting the group organizer Galina and everyone else that decided to brave the cold on Sunday. The dogs were looking good as always and didn't seem to mind the temperature. If anyone has any questions about my photography or would like to see any of these photos in Black and White please feel free to contact me at the "contact" link above. Also, I love referrals! For every friend or family member you refer you'll receive $50 off the price of a photo session package. Contact me for details. Here are the photos: click to see photos

WI Pug Play Group Photo Shoot

I'll be taking photos at the WI Pug Play Group meetup on April 5th at 11:00am. The meetup will be at Minooka Park in the small dog section.  I can't wait to meet all the "pugs and their people"! We're hoping for some good weather. If anyone from the group would like to arrange for some one-on-one photo time with their dog please contact me and I'll make sure I get to work with you and your dog on Sunday. Otherwise I'll just hang around and get some pug action shots. If anyone outside of the WI Pug Play Group is going to be at Minooka that day I'll be available for some mini-sessions around 12:30. They will be 10 minute mini-portrait sessions that can be booked for $20. Prints can then be purchased through my website. Contact me if you would like to set something up.

Like aways, 10% of all print order proceeds are donated to the Wisconsin Humane Society.

Sonny

Here are some pictures from my last shoot with a lab-mix named Sonny. This shoot didn't require a single treat. Sonny works for balls! It's been a long winter so the outdoor shots were a lot of fun. The slightly green grass signals to me that spring is here (even if the next day brought snow).

Community Bark Meetup Photos - 2/21/09

It was great meeting everyone at the March 21st Community Bark meetup. The weather was perfect, all the dogs looked great and I think the photos turned out really well. I'm looking forward to the next meetup and bringing my dog Chloe to burn off some energy! Thanks to Andrew with http://www.communitybark.net for putting together a great event. Check back here on my blog for updates on future pet photo events and/or to see pictures from some of my recent photo shoots. You can get a hold of me at the "Contact" link above if you have any questions or would like to schedule a personal shoot for your pet(s). Here are the pictures:  click to view pictures

Chewy and Nike

Here are some shots from a recent shot with Chewy (the collie mix) and Nike (the "something"  mix). They weren't too into my all natural dog treats at first but once the Beggin' Strips were brought out... then we were able to get some nice shots. Nike quickly learned that she didn't even have to wait for a treat since she could help herself to my treat pouch. chewynike1chewynike2chewynike3chewynike4

Sydney and Sara

Here are some pictures from a recent studio shoot I had with an Aussiedoodle named Sydney and a Sheltie-mix named Sara. Sara was a natural in front of the camera; Sydney took a little "coxing". sara1sara2sydney1sydney2sarasydney
