I learned a few things during this shoot involved Sarah, her peekapoo dog Toro, her pony Pleasure and her yearling nubian goat Flower. First, kids come up with the best ideas for photos and that makes my job a whole lot easier. Second, goat will eat your hair if you let it get to close to their mouth. Third, even though I know next to nothing about horses, I realized they make great subjects and can’t wait to do more equine photography. It was hard to take a bad picture of this Welsh / Mustang with great blue eyes. Even though the clouds were a little ominous during the shoot we ended up with some great pictures. I had a blast photographing Sarah and her crew.

I recently found out that another member of the All Ears Pet Photography family has passed on. I had the opportunity to meet and photograph Butch (and his canine brothers and sisters) on a couple of occasions. He has the deep soulful eyes of a senior dog who has seen it all. We got some great images of Butch. You will be missed! Here are some of the photos from our shoot.
Mark your calendars! I will be at the Community Bark Coffee Bar and Dog Wash “Grand Opening” event this Friday (May 14th) from 3pm to 6pm doing portraits to benefit the Wisconsin Humane Society. With a minimum donation of $15 you can get a photo of your pet and a 5×7 to be picked up at Community Bark a couple weeks after the event. I will also provide a certificate equal to your donation that can be put toward a custom pet photography session with All Ears Pet Photography at a later date.
Community Bark is a GREAT coffee bar / dog wash in Bayside (map it). The event will feature an adoption fair with the Wisconsin Humane Society and local rescues, a microchip clinic, therapy dog screenings, fun dog contests, grooming demonstrations, “Ask the Trainer” with Jen Digate, events for kids and much more. Community Bark will also be announcing a new program to benefit rescue and foster dogs in Wisconsin! On the drink side, there will be the launch of the new Community Bark coffee blend, a delicious Rishi tea tasting, and an exciting Free Coffee FRIDAY on May 14! The Grand Opening events will run Friday, May 14th from 3pm to 6pm and continue on Saturday, May 15th from 11am to 5pm.
Pass the word and I hope to see you on Friday!

I was deeply saddened to hear that one of the All Ears Pet Photography family, Hugo (The General), had recently passed on. Hugo was a 16 year old standard poodle I had the pleasure of photographing last fall. We were lucky enough to get a beautiful fall evening for the shoot. Some of Hugo’s photos are still personal favorites of mine. We got some photographs that I was told perfectly represent Hugo in the twilight of his life and I couldn’t agree more. Although notorious for taking part in the destruction of an oriental rug and a shelf full of bibles & religious books in his early days (I still think he was framed), The General will be greatly missed and I am happy I got the opportunity to photograph this amazing dog. Below are some of the photos from last fall.
